every day life in ancient china
the Chinese humanity was broken up into 4 classes , the shi , the
gong ,the nong and the shong at the top of the class system was the emperor and
his family than there were the dukes , administrators and professors and then
there were farmers and exporters .the farmer didn’t get much money and either
did the exporters. There were around 60000 slaves in china out of roughly 60
million people in china .they either worked for the government building. They
built buildings like the Great Wall of China. They also work on people’s farms
or in houses. You could tell which class people were in because of the clothes
they wore it was a Chinese law that controlled what each class wore. the only
class that could wear silk was the shi, they wore long silk robes that went down
to their feet and a belt .the ladies also wore pants under their robes .the
other three classes: the nong, gong and shong wore fabric which was made of
plant fibers know as hemp .they wore pants and short robes which look a lot like
karate or judo out fits which some styles still wear
today.
